Plans for the next 365 Days
Let's see it's January 10th. It's still the beginning of 2011. Plans for the next 365 days (in no specific order) stand as:
- Get my driver's license
- Go back to work during the summer
- Make a demo with at least one of my bands
That's all I'm putting. See, plan small things you know you can or will do so you can do all of them and then some. If you go beyond that you're happier. And you could apply that to a lot of things in life. Ex: grades: aim for a C so if you do better you're happier.

Mr. Multi-Instrumental
So I found a word, or no not really word, a phrase? A figure speech I guess, that pertains to me. I play multiple instruments; guitar, bass, and drums. I could somewhat play the piano and I know how to sing in key, but I'm bad... terrible... I suuuuuuck at it (and that's putting it nicely) so I don't normally mention vocals and piano in my arsenal. Anyways, when it comes to instruments, I am a Jack of All Trades, Master of None. It basically means I'm competent in the categories but not a master of any of it. I don't know why but I really like that title. I started out playin guitar. I was too slow so my uncle (who was teaching me) threw me on bass. "One note," he said. "Casi [tagalog for because] you're too slow in changing da chords. Bass ees mach easier por you." Which was true. And I ended up a bass player. But after a while I stopped progressing. I do the same crap over and over again cause I can't do anything crazier. So I ran back to guitar and got faster at changing chords. But I can't solo. I'm strictly a rhythm guitarist. I could do easy solos like "What Happened to You" by The Offspring or "Gangsters" by The Specials and other good stuffs. Ok so I'm not a terrible at soloing but I can't do any solos that are too crazy. I also play drums. I got a lot of beats I could do so that's cool. But don't give me 8th notes in a punk song (ex: The Ramones) I will tire out before the first chorus. So to basically wrap this all up I'm a Jack of All Trades, Master of None. I could do all of the above in a band, but don't ask me to do anything crazy!
Day 4
Favorite Quotes
"Life is too short so love the one you got
Cause you might get run over or you might get shot"
- "What I Got" by Sublime
I've followed this quote for the longest. It's pointless to walk through life all sad or pissed off about nothing. Truth is no matter how bad you think your life is, there is someone whose life is worse, whose life is actually bad. Don't take your life for granted.
"So I'm gonna do my best
to kill em with kindness
So I can grow up to be good"
- "Angel and A Devil"
I actually found this song or quote somewhat recently. Everyone hates each other nowadays. It's kinda depressing. How are we supposed to progress when we're all working against each other? We gotta help each other out. I can't go out saving people on the streets getting mugged. I can't get a homeless person food and a home to live in. I can't cure the person with cancer. But I can hold a door for someone walking into a place. If I can spare the change, I could donate a dollar to a charity or the dude playin his guitar out on the streets so he could buy his meal for the day. There's no need to be rude or mean to someone who you just met, that has never wronged you.
"QUIT BEIN A WUSSY!"
- Christopher Titus (and Ken Titus)
This quote has gotten me through a lot. Whenever I felt like I couldn't go any farther I'd say to myself "QUIT BEIN A WUSSY!" and I'd keep goin. Whenever I didn't have the balls to do something: "QUIT BEIN A WUSSY!" and I'd grow a pair. It's been pretty effective for me.
"Make do with what you have
Take what you could get"
- "Minor Threat" by Minor Threat
Sometimes you need to care not about what you don't have, but what you do have. Some people can't have half the crap that others have. Not everyone could afford a big screen TV. Some people can't afford a t-shirt to replace their dirty ripped up one on their back. Sometimes you just gotta be happy with what you already got. I don't think Ian meant what I said writing this. But this is the way I took it.

Day 3
Drugs and Alcohol
I went into high school with this "I don't wanna be like my peers" attitude. Every time I heard someone brag about gettin wasted the other night or talk about how high they got, I would think "I don't need that stuff to have fun". At the time I guess you could say it was my way of tryin to be "better" than them. But that's just nonsense to me now (to be "better" than someone). Unless he or she is Douche Bag McRapist Murderer, you're not better than anyone. Anyways (before I go into a completely other topic) I still stand as I don't need drugs or alcohol to have fun. But I don't consider myself as straight edge. I don't want to be labeled. And the meaning's changed. Although I would say, if anything, I'm original straight edge.
Drugs and alcohol are not bad. In moderation. Because everything is bad in excess if you think about it. Too many cheeseburgers you get high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Too much sugar gives you diabetes. Too much water you drown. See where I'm goin with this? If you have fun drinkin or gettin high, cool man. It's just not my thing. And a couple other reasons why I don't drink or smoke, is because A) everyone thinks I'm on something or drunk already. I don't feel like proving them right. B) Alcohol tastes nasty. It's a rancid drink, I don't see how people could just chug it down. and C) Imagine if I really was on something...

Day 2
Best Friend
This is kinda hard to write about. I don't like giving ranks to my friends. They're all pretty much my brothers and sisters to me. But I'll write about my closest. So I guess it won't be hard, but long (yes that's what she said). I'm not gonna use their names, because I haven't used any in other entries. So here we go. My best friends.
Best Friend A
I grew up with A. We met in kindergarten and we still talk now in college. So he's my oldest friend. We took guitar lessons together taught by my uncle. He turned into a sick guitarist, bustin out into solo and whatnot. His dad taught him drums before that so he could lay down some beats too. He's friggin smart. Really smart. He loves fishing and would drive anywhere if he wanted to. He's my oldest friend and I'm glad he's still there. In life you gotta accept the fact that some people aren't always gonna be there.
Best Friend B
B is actually a funny story. We met earlier in high school for a good 2 seconds. But me being Captain Oblivious didn't see anything of it. We started talking at the end of high school. Waaaaaay the heck towards the end. About 2 months before we graduated. Anyways we started talkin cause she worked in Rita's (an ice cream place). And me bein Captain Fatty always went to Rita's. I started seein her a lot so I ended up askin her out for some donuts after school. We ended up talkin a lot, went to prom (which we didn't even want to go to in the first place), hung out the whole summer and now she's one of my best friends. She doesn't give herself enough credit (I've told her this many times) but if you'd ask me or anyone else, she's really really really smart and works very hard. And that's actually something I admire because there's a lot of idiots out there nowadays. She's very creative and has talent that is gonna be put to good use (I mean she's goin to college for it). I could see her goin far in life.
Best Friend C
C is nuts. I don't know what I'd do without him. We actually met on facebook. We were talkin to this one girl and it turned out we both liked her (we actually just found this out recently). Anyways he adds me and sees that I skate and spray paint which is stuff that's he's into. I find out he drums. And now we jam almost every Friday. If it's nice out we'll skate. He's really good at skating. And drawing. If you're ever down C is definitely the dude to go to. He's an upbeat kid with an awesome sense of humor. We'll kick the crap out of each other or just pull stupid pranks on each other. It's always fun when he's around.
Best Friend D
D is really special to me. We were aware of each others' existence but never spoke to each other. Then one day our friend suggested me to spray paint her bass. And from there everything just fell into place. Now we talk every night. She's a full package. She's both beautiful and smart. She plays bass, guitar, piano, and she sings. That's just gnarly. She's a good pure person in general, which is hard to find today, so I'm glad to have her as a friend. And I'm lucky to be her man.

4) I could eat. and eat. and eat.
5) I could watch any zombie movie. good or bad. I love zombie movies.

10) I wanted to do engineering FOREVER. And then senior year I decided I wanted to do Visual Arts.
11) I've never broke a bone.
